It’s nice to meet you in Augusta National’s new media center cafeteria on Saturday at Masters. Smart move. Journalists expect to go to heaven on a journalistic path, and they hope to be well fed – and free – along the I Can’t Keep Calm I’m Carrying My Team Shirt In addition,I will do this way. Anyway, as I told you, Dan and the editors of Golf Digest invited me to be their guest and wrote an essay about my impression as a first time audience at Masters. I have accepted with integrity (a word that I rarely use, but we are saying an invitation to the Masters here).
I’m not a golfer, I play 10 times a year, but I’m a dedicated big event sports fan. I’ve been to five Olympics, half a dozen Super Bowls, two Rose Bowls and two Orange Bowls, at least eight World Series, two NBA championships, one Four Finals, four Wimbledon finals, two matches for heavyweight competitions, Daytona and 1955 South Dakota State High School Basketball Championship (a helluva game, but that’s another story).
